WHY SHOULD I OUTSOURCE MY MEDICAL BILLING?

Outsourcing your billing is smart business. APC costs much less than in-house billing staff, and we are more efficient. Your billing statements get to the payor within 24-hours of the visit, often the same day! You get paid quicker and your staff is free to concentrate on what really counts … patient care.

HOW QUICKLY CAN APC START BILLING FOR ME?

For practices with properly credentialed and enrolled providers, we will begin billing for you immediately. With APC’s credentialing services, we will handle your new providers and any issues that could potentially affect receiving your payments. It typically takes 5-30 days to credential new providers.

WHAT DO YOU CHARGE FOR YOUR BILLING SERVICES, AND WHAT IS INCLUDED?

APC charges a percentage (5-15%) of what we bill for you. Therefore, we are motivated to collect as much as possible for your practice, because the more money you collect, the more we earn. APC offers a number of billing packages that are as diverse as our clients. If you need a more tailored set of services, just let us know and we’ll happily provide you with a quote.

ARE THERE ANY HIDDEN FEES I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?
Absolutely not. All fees are fully disclosed and easily understood in our service quote.

DO I HAVE TO SIGN A LONG TERM CONTRACT?
No. APC operates on a month-to-month agreement.

DO I HAVE TO USE ANY SPECIAL SOFTWARE TO USE YOUR BILLING SERVICE?
No. We work with your existing system(s). It’s our job to service you, not the other way around. APC has an in-house technical department that can assist you with a free consultation if you have questions about practice management software, electronic health records (HER), websites, or any other technical concerns.

DO YOU ALSO OFFER PATIENT BILLING?
Definitely. In fact, we have billing packages that range from simply mailing out patient bills to fully managing all incoming patient billing inquiries via telephone and email.

CAN I DECIDE WHICH OF MY PATIENTS GO TO COLLECTIONS?

Absolutely. We work from your directive, and will be as relaxed or strict with your patient billing policies as you require.

CAN I CANCEL BILLING SERVICES?

Certainly. While we are confident that you will be satisfied with our results, we understand that circumstances change. In the event you’d like to cancel, simply contact us 30-days before you would like to cancel and APC will facilitate the transfer of information back to your new billing service or in-house staff. We will even provide you with a digital file to upload into your new system.

HOW ARE PAYMENTS AND EOBs PROCESSED?

APC never handles your money. Payor checks are always mailed directly to your office. We receive most EOBs electronically and post the payments in our system for record keeping. Any EOBs that are not available electronically are mailed to your office. All you have to do is send them to us (mail, email scan, or pickup) to be recorded.

DO YOU ALSO SUBMIT SECONDARY AND TERTIARY CLAIMS?

Yes.

IS YOUR DATA SECURE?

Absolutely. Our technical setup adheres to the strictest levels of security. We backup our data systems several times per day. APC takes HIPAA very seriously, and our staff signs confidentiality agreements and completes rigorous HIPPA and privacy training.

HOW OFTEN ARE MY CLAIMS PROCESSED?

Within 24-hours of receipt, often the same day as the visit.

WHY DO YOU CHARGE A PERCENTAGE INSTEAD OF A FLAT FEE, LIKE OTHER BILLING FIRMS?

Firms that charge a flat rate do so because they are strictly transmitting your claim. After that, there is little incentive for them to follow up on any rejections or denials, which ultimately costs you money. APC works on a percentage compelling us to work harder to insure that all claims are paid in full and according to the latest pay scale set forth in your provider agreement with the payor. It’s a bonefide “win-win” scenario.
